HUUUUUUGE FANNN OF MISO.
Miso is AMAZING. It's so clean and the quality food is so so so good. I can't explain enough, definitely check out MISO.
You always get a little free appetizer of a salad and steamed egg. Delicious.
I always look forward to coming here also because they have such good service. It's smaller than normal restaurants which gives a cozier, more personal feel.
If you're looking for a cute date spot to grab some goooood food, then Miso is the spot.
I can see the intimate appeal of this place with private booths to allow private conversations amongst friends, couples, or families. The overall atmosphere of this place makes me feel good on the inside. The staff is always friendly and quick with service, extremely accomodating as well.
My only qualm about this place are their portions. It is about 14 dollars for the Katsu + Udon combo I ordered, but it really wasn't a large amount of food. Although it was very good, I don't think it was worth the price. They serve one piece of katsu with a moderate amount of udon on the side. The side dishes that come with it are abysmally small; about two or three pieces of pickled radish and kimchi each. There is no rice that comes with it, but I asked the server and he offered it for free.
I would definitely come back, but I would not be a regular here.
It was my first time back at miso since I moved away from the area, and I was quite honestly disappointed. I remember it being the absolute best donkatsu place in the Annandale area but when I went again, the food was lacking.
First off I was upset by the portion of the donkatsu in the combo. It was just wayyy too small that it seemed "kid-sized". I ordered the donkatsu in combination with the miso ramen which seemed decently sized, but tasted salty with the noodles being very hard. My girlfriend also complained about how her donkatsu felt very dry which I agreed with.
Maybe today was just a bad day, or I had an over glorified view of their donkatsu because I was young? But there's definitely better donkatsu out there, so I probably will not be frequenting here much.
This place is small and quiet but it's very cozy. The portion of the meals are very filling. I ordered the pork katsu rice dish and it came with side dishes, a bowl of udon soup, rice, and a side of greens. Not only that, I had a bowl of soup on the side as well! It was a lot of food but it was all delicious. My only regret is not being able to eat all of it! Quality is definitely something I'm impressed with at this restaurant. I'd love to take my family here.
B E S T food ever! Even though I did not know what I ordered, a two combination meal and it was delicious! Our server spoke three languages which I thought it was cool. I'm so coming back for more!
